Shopping List:
- 1 [16 ounce] package angel hair pasta
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 28 0z can of crushed plum(roma) tomatoes and liquid
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 [10.75 ounce] can low-sodium chicken broth
- crushed red pepper to taste
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
TO MAKE:
- Pour olive oil in a large deep skillet over high-heat.
- Reduce heat to med-low and saute onions and garlic until lightly browned. 3-5 mins
- Raise heat to medium-high and add tomatoes, vinegar, red pepper, black pepper and chicken broth; simmer for about 8 minutes.
- While the sauce is cooking, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
- Add pasta and cook for 2 minutes or according to directions (pasta will continue to cook when added to sauce).
- Stir in basil and cooked pasta, tossing thoroughly with sauce.
- Let stand for about 5 more minutes and serve topped with grated cheese.
Note 1: Angel hair pasta is like spaghetti, only the rods are very thin. Healthier to use whole wheat.
Note 2: Add cooked chicken breast chunks (like purdue or from store bought rotisserie chicken) or shrimp can also be added to the sauce during step 5 for more protein and less carbs.

I think it is a delicious pasta, but I think it is the change in the recipe .....
The real pasta with tomato sauce, does not contain any ingredients that you used .. ;-)
